Why You Should Train in the Off-Season Episode 36

why you should train in the off season

In this week’s episode, Coaches Jacqui and Oliver discuss the importance of off-season training. Triathletes tend to fall into the trap of taking a gap season, only to fall behind and spend the spring making up for lengthy time off.

We discuss how to avoid that trap, remain consistent in training, and scale back to allow for adequate recovery – and so your family and work colleagues remember who you are.

Listen for tips on finding your consistency, working on technique, and staying motivated through the winter.

Remember, you can ask the coaches questions.

Having a race to prepare for is great motivation! Try a sprint or super sprint at the Award-Winning 2025 Crowle Triathlons: 27-April and 31-Aug, 2025. This is a great time to sign up and plan your training. It will help you stay focused during the cold winter months.
